This is another post that’s coming to you a little late. Daniel and I didn’t get home until 3am last night. After playing games with Matt at the comic store for a few hours, he invited us back to his house for some informal poker, pizza rolls, and brownies. Needless to say, it was awesome. I won one round of poker and then sucked the rest of the night, which was pretty unfortunate, but we all had a good time.
On Friday, Daniel got another package. This one was not for me, but it was still pretty mysterious. Daniel explained that he had ordered some comics from eBay, but he had no idea what they were (other than the fact that they were all Spider-Man). The seller was trying to get rid of his collection, but what he had done was covered both sides of the comic with a comic board, randomized them all, and the buyer pays a flat price per comic. Daniel purchased 5 so the guy threw in 1 free Spider-Man comic plus 1 more bonus comic (The Avengers). The deal is that you don’t know what you’re getting, so it could be a key issue from the Silver Age or just some random 80’s or 90’s comic. I thought it was a very interesting idea and a cool way to get rid of a comic collection.
